However, that hasn’t always been the case. Elstead Lighting was originally known as The Elstead Forge and they specialised in making gates, railings and general iron work. They did also make some fire baskets and hearth accessories which proved so popular that they started making surplus so they had some to put in display. It was this simple change that started The Elstead Forge on its journey to where it is today.

Through the 1970s and 80s, The Forge grew in sales and quickly outgrew the Elstead premises so a new factory was opened in Alton, Hampshire. By 1984, the company specialised far more in lighting than any other product so they changed the name to Elstead Lighting Ltd. By 1990, the company managed to secure orders and on-going business from many of the best known high street names.

Today, not only do Elstead Lighting have their own 9000 sq ft showroom just outside of London, they also have stunning displays at independent retailers such as Taskers.
